RAIN-ing at HK airport

leave a comment »

Korean heartthrob Rain is having his “Rain’s Fashion Concert” tonight in Hong Kong, and this is also the first fashion and performing concert that he is having for his personal brand “Six to Five” overseas.

Apparently, his arrival at the HK airport yesterday morning around 11.30am had resulted in hordes of fans gathering there, and of course chaos ensued when the Korean left the airport with a ‘more protected’ route.

Well, but fans-friendly Rain still managed to mesmerise his diehard fans with his smile and handwaves when fans still caught a glimpse of him when he was arriving at the vehicle that the agency had arranged.

AnYeong, Rain! (haha)

Jessica Hsuan together with her parents

leave a comment »

Hong Kong famous actress Jessica Hsuan has bought a house, all ready to welcome her parents who are intending to settle down in Hong Kong. That sounds really blissful especially when parents and daughter have not been living together for the past 30 years. Hope that’s an act of filial piety, it’s rare nowadays to see stars still living together with their parents. (But well, beware the amazing HK paparazzi)

However this act of buying a house has also triggered the questions from the media whether she is preparing for marriage, considering that she’s a whopping 39 years old in age this year! But of course, this star has denied. She even revealed that her parents have already given up pestering her into marriage, knowing that they have a daughter who dislikes being pressured.

oguri shun! a movie director at last (;

leave a comment »

Hey dearies, my bad for leaving this place for quite some while! been busy, been distracted, well you name it.

Anyway, what’s the best way to clear the dust of this blog other than starting it off again with Oguri Shun! ((:

News from Tokygraph.com revealed that Oguri Shun is finally going to be a first-time movie director! (well, talented guys in showbiz should really utilise their talents man)

Of course, while we all know that actors becoming directors are no biggie, but give some credit to this guy who is afterall still in his twenties (26+ in fact)! No official title to the movie yet, but there’s speculations that it might be named “Surely Someday”.

The star is currently overseas for work, and is said to be starting his directing work this summer. The film is rumoured to be a story of adolescence that will feature a cast of handsome actors! (ikemen =p) It will be cool to see Oguri’s group of handsome friends in the entertainment circle being his cast, I’m crossing my fingers haha. Anyway, news also mentioned that Oguri Shun was able to get this directing project rolling with the help of producer Mataichiro Yamamoto who heads his management agency, Tristone, and also Oguri Senior, Tetsuya Oguri, a stage director.

This film is expected to hit the theatres next year.

horikita maki’s new dorama

leave a comment »

Japanese rising star Horikita Maki will take on a very different role from her usuals for her next upcoming dorama (: This Fuji TV series is yet untitled but it is mentioned in Tokyograph that she will be acting as a homeless person.

As quoted by Tokyograph, “In the drama, Horikita’s character is burdened with 100 million yen worth of debt after her gambling father disappears. Chased out of her home by collectors, she is forced to sleep in places like internet cafes. However, she meets the president of a major company who offers to pay off the debt if she marries him, and she soon finds herself moving in with a rather eccentric family.”

This show will start its run in Japan in April this year.

Is it gonna be the typical poor-girl-meets-rich-guy type of show? But since the male lead is said to come from a rich and eccentric family, perhaps things might be a tad more interesting. ;)

Big Bang’s book a bang

leave a comment »

Korean celebrity group Big Bang is not only a sensation in the music industry, but seemingly also in the publishing industry. Their book titled “Cry Out Loud To The World About You” might even surpass their own album count! (which is 200,000 btw from their second volume “Remember“)

Released on the 28th January this year, the initial 100,000 copies had been snapped up and an additional 60,000 copies have been printed and out in the bookstores. The response from buyers has been phenomenal, having placed as best seller in many online bookstore websites. This is already happening without the upcoming promotional period for the book, guess Big Bang’s book stint is really gonna be a big bang.

“Cry Out Loud To The World About You” is a book that reveals some unseen characters of the members of Big Bang, something that fans would die to know about. And accordingly to a spokesperson from YG Entertainment, the book is getting positive reviews from people of all ages.

By the way, for the uninformed, the above English title is merely an English translation of the book that the group has written in Korean.

Ayumi Hamasaki, illustrated.

leave a comment »

Pop star Ayumi Hamasaki will be teaming up with famous mangaka Akira Toriyama for her upcoming single “Rule/ Sparkle”. Toriyama is best known for his creation of Dragon Ball in 1984. This time round, Toriyama has drawn a likeness of Ayumi Hamasaki that will be printed on the first press CDs and DVDs of this new single. This is his first time drawing an illustration for a music artiste, as well as drawing a real person for a commercial product.

But of course, this collaboration is a result of Hamasaki’s “Rule” being used as the theme song of the worldwide release of the live-action “Dragonball” movie, based on Toriyama’s creation.

The single will go on sale in late February, way ahead of the movie’s release in mid March.

Oguri Shun and Tatsuya Fujiwara in Musashi!

leave a comment »

both Japanese celebrities Oguri Shun and Tatsuya Fujiwara will come together once again to act in a play titled “Musashi”, after collaborating together in year 2003. This play will be staged from 4th March to 19th April, with a total of 54 shows. The tickets for the plays were snapped up in merely 80 minutes after the tickets were on sale on 31st January 10am.

The previous play in which both actors had worked together ended its run years ago with positive comments and feedback, thus I guess everyone is looking forward to them working together for an astoundingly successful performance.
